You can also make it with fringed cheese. Margherita pizza is also known as Napoli pizza, which turns into a flavor bomb with the combination of tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, basil and olive oil. Although the name is different, it is one of the first pizzas that comes to mind when you think of classic pizza.

This pizza, whose story goes back to ancient times, is named "Margherita" as a tribute to the queen, symbolizing the three colors of the Italian flag, basil-green, mozzarella-white and tomato sauce-red. ingredients:

  • 2.5 cups of flour
  • 2.5 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 cup of warm water
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of powdered sugar

  • For the sauce:
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil

Method of preparation:

Mix warm water, powdered sugar and dry yeast in a small bowl and wait 10 minutes.
Pour the sifted flour into a bowl, open the middle part like a pool, pour the salt, prepared yeast mixture and olive oil there. Mix all the ingredients from the middle to the outside and start kneading. Cover the kneaded dough with a plastic wrap and wait 30 minutes at room temperature.
Grate the peeled tomatoes for the pizza sauce. Heat the olive oil and cook the tomatoes for 3-4 minutes. Add the thyme and put it in the fridge to cool.
Divide the leavened dough into two equal parts and roll each into a round shape by hand.
Place the opened dough in separate oven dishes and spread the thyme-smelling tomato sauce with a spoon, starting from the middle of the pizza and moving towards the edges. Don't forget to leave a finger-thick crack on the edges.
(Be careful to roll out the pizza dough thinly with your hands)
Spread the grated mozzarella cheese evenly on the pizzas and bake in a preheated oven at 250 degrees until the cheese melts and browns - about 15 minutes.
Sprinkle basil leaves on the pizzas that come out of the oven, slice them and serve them without cooling.
