Disney's global revenue exceeded $4 billion with the release of "Avatar: The Way of Water".

Just a month ago, Disney brought in $3 billion at the global box office with the huge success of "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever." Now, the studio's earnings have exceeded $4 billion. Behind this success is "Avatar: The Way of Water".

"Avatar 2" has already made $497 million worldwide and crowns 2022, a pretty big year for the company. While the movie was the last piece of the puzzle with its revenue approaching half a billion dollars, Disney's revenue from all the movies released this year amounted to $4,049 billion.

The highest-grossing movies for Disney this year were, unsurprisingly, Marvel movies. "Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness" earned $955 million at the global box office, while "Thor: Love and Thunder" earned $761 million. The current revenue of "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever", whose vision journey is still continuing, is 789 million dollars.

Other major studios also had significant success in 2022, but Disney solidified its strength as the world's highest-paid movie studio in 2022. The highest-paid movie of the year, "Top Gun: Maverick" ($ 1 billion 488 million), came out under the umbrella of Paramount Pictures. Universal Pictures has become the first studio to break the $3 billion mark worldwide during the pandemic period (since 2019), thanks to two big hits such as "Jurassic World: Dominion" and "Minions 2: The Rise of Gru." Ultimately, however, Disney's earnings outstripped them all.

Now the studio has yet another lucrative year ahead of it. Disney's films to be released in 2023 include "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania", "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" and "The Marvels" from Marvel. Also in line are movies with high box office potential, such as "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" and Pixar's "Elemental."
