Mackerel is a fish with a very original taste and smell. From this fish, you can prepare a tasty and satisfying dish for lunch or dinner, or even for a holiday table. Mor.az presents a recipe for mackerel fish with vegetables.

ingredients:

  • 500 g mackerel fish
  • 1 onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 bulgarian pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of tomato
  • 250 ml of water
  • 1-2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • Greens (to taste)

Method of preparation:

Cut off the head, tail and fins of the mackerel and clean the inside. Wash the fish well, dry it with a paper towel and cut it into pieces about 3 cm wide.
Cut the onion into 4 parts.
Pour a small amount of oil into the pan, put it on the stove and fry the onion for a few minutes.
Cut the carrot into small cubes, add it to the fried onions, stir and continue frying.
Cut the pepper into strips and add to the carrots and onions and cook for another 5 minutes until the vegetables are soft. Stir occasionally with a spatula or wooden spoon over medium heat.
Then add tomato paste and spices to the vegetables and reduce the heat. Boil the sauce for a few minutes so that the vegetables mix with the tomato.
Arrange the mackerel slices on the pan on top of the vegetables and cook for 5 minutes. Then turn each piece of fish to the other side so that the fish cooks evenly. Cook for another 7-10 minutes (no more) on minimum heat. After cooking, cover the lid of the pan so that the taste and smell of the vegetables and tomatoes are fully absorbed.
After it is ready, you can put the mackerel with vegetables on a plate, sprinkle greens on it and serve it.
