    For the doner:
  • 500 grams of lean minced meat
  • 3 tablespoons of semolina
  • 3 tablespoons of yogurt
  • 1 grated onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of thyme
  • 1 teaspoon of salt

Method of preparation:

To prepare the doner, pour minced meat, semolina, grated garlic, yogurt, soda, salt, pepper and thyme into a bowl and mix well. Shape the mixture into a four-finger-high roll. Wrap in stretch cellophane and refrigerate overnight.
To prepare the sauce, put grated tomatoes, butter, tomato paste, chili pepper paste, pepper and salt in a pot and cook.
Cut the pita bread into cubes and place it on the baking tray.
Take out the meat that you have wrapped in a roll in the refrigerator and put it on the buns without waiting too long at room temperature. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees until golden (about 10 minutes).
Take it out of the oven, pour the sauce and melted butter on it and serve it with yogurt.
You can add tomatoes and peppers to taste.
